The company provides a complete turn-key capability from design to metal model moulding, machine processing and welding as well as pneumatic and electronic automation.

Following manufacture and quality assurance processes RZEM (Roshal plant of experimental machinery) delivers to site and provides a full installation and maintenance capability supporting warranties and performance guarantees.

Located in the town of Roshal, in the Province of Moscow, there is an abundance of regional expertise in mechanical engineering and at relatively low labour rates. There are currently 160 employees and the company turns over around 100 million rubles per year (approx. ?2.2 million) which is relatively high for a non-mass producer.

All existing business is currently confined to Russian clients ranging from local farmers to large agricultural enterprises all over the Russian Federation as well as Russian railways.

Communications are excellent being close to the rail system and direct road links through Belarus and Poland to Germany and thus exporting to Western and Northern Europe would be relatively straight forward. Equally, the companies' understanding of the domestic markets makes it well placed to bring new products into the Russian Federation.

The director of RZEM (Roshal plant of experimental machinery) Alexander Lankov is 56 years old and has owned and managed this business for 7 years having been involved in the factory for 30 years including 8 years before its privatisation in 1986 (it was originally built in 1926).

He is a highly skilled engineer and has been formally recognised by the Government (Province of Moscow) for his contribution in growing the Russian economy. He is now looking towards retirement and possible exit strategies for the business and keen to investigate various potential relationships with suitable partners.

He is initially looking for business relationships in Western and Northern Europe to fill existing spare capacity and potentially transform the existing technology base into automated machinery featuring modern technologies and serialised production. This could be to facilitate exported products or imports to the Russian Federation.
